The moon is at her full, and riding high, Floods the calm fields with light. The airs that hover in the summer sky Are all asleep to-night. ~William C. Bryant
For the last couple of days I have been tracking the moon. First it was only a quarter then it went up to half and BOOM tonight we have a full moon and my mind is taking back to the numerous stories my grandma used to tell us outside under the full moon. Back then, life was simple, when it rained we danced outside, when there was a full moon we got story night, when the sun set we went home. No need for umbrellas, flashlights or lanterns. I don't mean to sound anti-technology but it seems that the more inventions just take away from the beauty. I'm trying to envision my home in Oregon with grass and flowers and then I remember that I will not really get the chance to enjoy it because I will be at work and so I will need to purchase landscape lighting in order to fully savor the sight and then I will have to work overtime to pay for the electric bill.
And the story continues.
We work to pay for what we never enjoy because we are working.
