Hi

For those of you wondering where I have been...why were you wondering? You know the only reason that I would not blog for over a week is cos I'm trapped in a drug-induced comatose state in a hospital bed dreaming up hallucinations of birds and butterflies.

However, now I'm out, feeling much better and ready to catch up on everything that's been going on with you peoples.

Happy holidays all. So far, mine hasn't been anything to write home about, but it looks like the tide is changing.

Nothing...

I was actually thinking of something to write about today when I decided to write about the fact that I have nothing to write about. Of course, this is just a trite and silly way to fill up space on my post but seriously...I have nothing to write about.

Hope you all are having a nice day.

Cheers!

Organizing

Organizing is what you do before you do something, so that when you do it, it is not all mixed up. ~A. A. Milne

You guys know I'm always venting about getting more organized and such. Well, the last few days have been a veritable windstorm of chaos in the guise of organization. First we went to IKEA, because I simply couldn't get organized without these shelves that I've been dying to own ever since Lola introduced me to them close to 2 years ago. Not only are they utterly chic, there is so much stuff you can put on them in so many ways that I have extra shelves with nothing but tchotckes on them just to fill the space!

After that, I broke out my tools including my very own automatic screwdriver and built the damn shelves all by my sweet self in less than an hour. That's one thing I love about buying furniture---you get to build it and feel all cool when it's done.

Moving right along, I finally attacked the mound of boxes that we've been just waffling past the last month. It's amazing how you can get used to living in a house full of boxes, in fact utilizing them for tables and desks...lol. One by one, I eliminated the contents and broke the boxes down leaving nothing that wasn't needed in our new home. Have I griped yet about how packrat-ish we both are?

Anyway, the reason I'm blogging today is to let you all know that I'm alive and that there is no reason to keep anything in your life that you haven't used in 3 years. No reason at all.

Hope you all are having a great week.

Truffles

If I can't have too many truffles, I'll do without truffles. ~ Sidonie Gabrielle Colette

One of the surprising advantages of living and loving a world traveller is that every single meal, every single bite is a wonderful rapture of culinary delights. In the last month, I've eaten so many foods from all over the world from exotic cheeses to spicy sauces and of course, my personal favorite, the delightfully decadent chocolate.

I'm not really a chocolate lover, I savor one or two pieces and close the box. However Teuscer chocolates from Switzerland are the closest to heaven we'll ever find here on earth. They are that good. I thought Reese's was a dream chocolate, so you can understand where my rapture comes from.

The best part about me eating dishes from every continent in the world is that his palate is so cultivated that when I introduce any of my favorite spicy Nigerian dishes, he's totally loving it as well.
