Elderly

Old age, believe me, is a good and pleasant thing. It is true you are gently shouldered off the stage, but then you are given such a comfortable front stall as spectator. ~Confucius

My elderly patients are soooo cute! For some reason, they have such a unique perspective on life. It's like they have nothing to lose anymore and they are just happy and content for each special day. They recognize their mortality and yet remain so peaceful. They say whatever is on their minds, don't even worry about being PC and strictly epitomize the 'live for the moment' ideology that so many youth profess but in essence lack. Besides the fact that your body starts crapping out on you, your kids quibble over your money, you're in and out of hospitals often and incontinence products become your new best friend, being elderly is really posh.

Especially when you have a nurse like me.

Yeah girl: got much to learn from the old folk... living with my grandparents for a while taught me some of it -- even if one of them was a serial worrier for most of that time, lol... There's a certain wisdom in maturity, not just in being of age but truly being mature. It's best to learn from them early rather than have to learn experientially later... Cuz f'real, few of them got so chilled out by accident; some a them learned to do it through or after personal tragedy -- *life* taught them, and it was a hard life indeed... I really respect that.

Enjoy the journey, Vixen!
