Numerology

I don't believe in astrology; I'm a Sagittarius and we're skeptical. ~ Arthur C. Clarke

Over the weekend, a friend of mine invited me to her place to get my numbers read. I've heard of astrology, and even vaguely numerology, so I was intrigued but deeply skeptical. After all, what can a bunch of numbers tell me about myself that I don't already know?

She took my full name, birthdate and proceeded to add everything to it's final number. For example, my birthday, which is October 2, 1980 (for those of you who want to know or choose to forget!) added up to the final number of 3.

10 + 2 = 12; then 1 + 2 = 3;
1 + 9 + 8 + 0= 18; then 1 + 8 = 9
9 + 3 = 12 then 1 + 2 = 3

So the final number was three. She then consulted the charts and used my name to come up with my numbers for Maturity, Life Path, Personality, Soul's Desire, Life Pinnacles, and Life Challenges.

Ok, up to this point, I'm still very very skeptical. First of all, it was Math...and you guys know I suck at math. I tried to help her calculate and almost screwed up the equation so I just sit back at let the master do her thing. After she came up with all the numbers, she consulted her book, aptly titled Numerology for Dummies. Then she began to read.

It was at this juncture that my skepticism ended. No way! She started reading about my prime number first, and alot of the stuff there was true...I am a mediator, have a way with words, see both sides of every issue, creative and personable. She said that I have leadership qualities but hate committees and meetings (so true!). At this point I was listening with rapt attention.

Then she continued on to my Personality, and this just blew me away. I was speechless, it was waaaaay too accurate. There are a hundred things that I do and have no reason why I do them, and the explanations became clear. Like my rule for 2 feet of personal space, why I have wanderlust in my veins, my penchant for staying up late. It actually stated that I function best after 10pm....so true!

The more she read, the more I was convinced that somehow, this friend of less than 2 months, had peered into my life, reached into my soul and touched my very essence. I felt so......desecrated! I actually wrapped my arms across my chest, get away from me you psychic!

To cut the long story short...my life path is to conquer my selfishness. Until I resolve this, I'm caught in the quagmire of this phase. Ok, I know I have moments of selfishness, but not enough to turn it into my life's desire. Oh, and I don't let my emotions out enough because I fear a loss of control. Keeping them in is known to cause physical ailments.

So I'm allowed to be an emotional nightowl that hates meetings. Because my numerology says so. I'm so cool.

You are so dumb!!!
This is what joblessness has reduced my poor sister too! leaving away the mental and dwelling on the metaphysica. So what if this general number bull-crap worked, so does reading your astrology online.

Anyway, watch what demons you open your purity too. Not your friend but ouija boards, tarrot cards and the works, beware of demons who fortell the future and your identity sis.

This is way to creepy and I woould back what the call the F#$%& up quick!

I have a book given to me by a friend which is like the womens guide to all of this stuff and I'm going to have a look at the numerology bit. And f*ck it, if it touched you and resonated with you, then that's good enough for you!

I've had other friends who told me about going to see psychics, astrologists, and other BSers (nothing personal to all those believers out there), but I never completely understood the purpose.

One of my friends was blown away that her psychic told her she was thinking about having children. Big revelation; how many women over the age of 18 haven't thought about children at one time in their life or another?

Another friend couldn't understand how her psychic knew she wanted to get a nose job. I'm sorry- I don't mean to be a skeptic- but I'm just not convinced that any other person who saw her walking down the street couldn't have told her the same thing. She has a big nose. A really, really, really big nose. You'd seriously have to see it to know what I'm talking about.

But anyways, even if this information did come to them through some freak psychic ability (which I highly doubt), what I really don't get is -didn't they already know this about themselves before they paid the $20.00 or $2.99/min?

And even after being amazed by all the personal information the psychics gave them, neither one of my friends was willing to say with 100% certainty they believed the information that was shared with them about their future.

So it seems to me (and correct me if I'm wrong) that at the end of the day they ended up wasting their time and money for someone to tell them a bunch of stuff about themselves that they already knew, and more stuff about their future that may or not be true.

I could have done that for half the price.

Tell you what V, next time you're in the mood for someone to talk crap in your ears, give me a call- I'll even do better than those quacks and throw in some personal info about your sisters and parents too.

And what the hell (you know I've got a soft heart) since you're not working right now, and I love you so much, I'll even tell it all to you for free.

FYI: I didn't pay for it, I'm not that stupid.

Also, to all you skeptics out there, until you have looked into it, you don't know what the hell you are talking about. Like I said, I was skeptical, until she started reading the book. The book was Numerology for Dummies; how about you get the book from the local library, run your numbers, then come back and let me know how that went.

That way, you don't have to pay for it (cheapskates), you can do it your damn self (skeptics)and find out more about yourself than you ever knew.

After that, holla back.
